Our History
The history of AquaBytes Digital and Environmental Development Foundation, popularly known as AquaBytes Foundation, is closely connected to the establishment of AquaBytes Technologies Ltd. Following the registration of AquaBytes Technologies Ltd. in 2015, its founding partners began reflecting on how they could use their collective resources, knowledge, experience, and opportunities to give back to society and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
In September 2015, the founding partners came together to discuss ways of contributing to society beyond their business activities. Following these discussions, they agreed on the need to establish a platform through which they could support people, create opportunities, and contribute to community development. This initiative became the foundation of what is now known as AquaBytes Foundation, driven by a shared commitment to service, empowerment, and improving lives.
Since its inception, AquaBytes Foundation has been committed to adding value to lives across Nigeria through its social-impact vision and community-focused initiatives. Its guiding purpose has been to use available resources, technology, knowledge, and collective goodwill to help people and contribute to a better society. Over time, the founding partners recognised the need to formalise the initiative to strengthen its organisational structure, expand its reach, and create opportunities for greater collaboration and support.
In 2026, the founding partners reunited and resolved to formally register the Foundation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria, to establish a recognised legal framework for its charitable and development activities. This decision was driven by the desire to reach more people across Nigeria and extend the Foundation's impact to other African communities through partnerships, donations, grants, volunteer engagement, and sustainable development programmes.
This important milestone was achieved on 21 September 2026, when AquaBytes Digital and Environmental Development Foundation received official approval from the Corporate Affairs Commission. The registration marked a significant new chapter in the Foundation's journey, providing a formal platform to pursue its objectives in digital inclusion, technology education, environmental sustainability, community development, humanitarian service, and Christian outreach.
Today, AquaBytes Foundation looks to the future with a renewed commitment to restoring hope, empowering people, transforming communities, and promoting responsible stewardship of our environment. Building on the vision that inspired its founding partners in 2015, the Foundation seeks to strengthen existing efforts, develop meaningful partnerships, mobilise resources, and extend opportunities to underserved and vulnerable people across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, guided by compassion, integrity, service, and the love of God.
